Rogers, Smith & Co. Quadruple-Plate Sugar Bowl
An open two-handled silver-plated vessel is enlivened by fine engraved flowers and unusually angular handles. A former service piece becomes a small decorative vase when given a new setting. Marked Rogers, Smith & Co., Meriden, CT, Quadruple, No. 1800.
Curator’s Notes
I love the delicacy of the engraving and the surprise of informal flowers in a once-formal sugar bowl.
