Handmade ceramic vase by an Italian ceramist, found at a show in Paris. The vase has a full, rounded body, narrow opening, and hand painted cobalt grid pattern with irregular dots and ovals. The pattern wraps around the vessel, giving it a graphic quality while retaining the irregularity of handmade work.
Curator Notes
This is the one with the most attitude. I like that it is graphic but not perfect, patterned but not polite. It has the confidence of a checked shirt, a tiled floor, or a piece that knows exactly where it wants to sit in a room.
