French Silver-Tone Coffee Pot Found in Bordeaux
Found in a Bordeaux junk shop, this compact metal coffee pot recalls the tailored service pieces of grand European hotels. Its simple cylinder, long inclined spout and squared handle bring polish to an ordinary form.
Curator’s Notes
I found it in a junk shop but immediately thought of expensive hotel silver. To me the discovery is its confidence and restraint, not a distinguished maker.
Details
Material: Silver-tone metal; composition unknown
Dimensions: H 5½"; Ø 3"; overall W 7" (including handle, as supplied)
Condition: Exterior good; interior stained and darkened from liquids
