A collection of glossy lacquered stones, gathered in shades of red and yellow-green, sits within a dark bowl. The contrast is strikingly modern: brilliant color against a simple, restrained form. Sold exactly as a grouping.
Curator’s Notes
I collected the lacquer stones during travels to Japan in 1985. I love them most near historic art—especially a Flemish image—where their saturated modern color changes the entire composition.
